Preps.com, L.I.G Sports & SportsMeetTech Africa Launch Unified Nigerian Talent Hub
Pittsburgh and Washington expertise meets Lagos innovation, with Nationwide League One as the first on-field partner
PITTSBURGH, Pa. | WASHINGTON, D.C. | LAGOS, Nigeria — 11 July 2025 — Preps.com—the Pittsburgh-born sports-data platform co-founded 15 years ago by software architect Brian P. Rossi and strategist Ayo Fapohunda—has joined forces with L.I.G Sports and SportsMeetTech Africa to create a seamless pathway that connects Nigeria’s brightest teenagers to clubs and agents around the world.
The collaboration operates on two continents but acts as one team:
Preps.com supplies the cloud technology that turns match footage into verified, searchable player passports.
L.I.G Sports, led from Pittsburgh by former NFL cornerback & Front Office Executive Justin King, contributes its Blue Chip Academy curriculum, guiding each athlete on training habits, personal branding and pro-level decision-making.
SportsMeetTech Africa fields capture crews across Nigeria, gathering HD video, GPS metrics and age documentation while supporting local coaches and academies on best-practice data standards.
Nationwide League One (NLO), Nigeria’s largest grassroots competition, provides the first wave of official matches to be ingested.
One ecosystem, shared purpose
Brian P. Rossi, Co-Founder, Preps.com
“From our first line of code in Pittsburgh, our mission was clear: give every talented kid the same digital evidence top clubs demand. By partnering with Justin’s Blue Chip curriculum and SportsMeetTech Africa’s boots on the ground, we turn that evidence into opportunity.”
Justin King, President, L.I.G Sports
“Blue Chip is more than training—it’s a roadmap for turning potential into professionalism. Embedding it inside Preps.com’s platform means a 16-year-old in the NLO learns the same off-field skills a European academy expects on day one.”
Ayo Fapohunda, Co-Founder, Preps.com
“We built this model so athletes, local scouts, international clubs and agents pull in the same direction. Data flows up, expertise flows down, and every stakeholder wins together.”
SportsMeetTech Africa Statement
“By unifying technology, curriculum and grassroots knowledge, we ensure Nigerian academies are recognised globally, and their players are prepared holistically for the next stage of their careers.”
Immediate impact for every stakeholder
Athletes receive verified digital profiles, expert developmental guidance and clear visibility to international scouts.
Clubs can search a secure portal for position-specific talent, backed by trusted data and a proven character-building program.
Agents access comprehensive passports—including match clips, biometrics and off-field readiness—accelerating placement and contract discussions.
Local academies and coaches retain credit for training years and gain structured support to raise standards across the entire pipeline.
Pilot underway
Forty-eight NLO matches and 126 fully verified player passports are already live. A private beta opens to selected European, North-American and Gulf clubs in Q4 2025, with nationwide Nigerian coverage expanding through 2026.
